If you have been watching Hulu at all recently, you’ve probably seen an ad for the cutting edge new Droid Razr (watch below).  And it’s been bugging the hell out of me.

So what’s stupid about this ad? By my count, the phone is on the screen for a total of 6 seconds out of 60. Verizon, please stop making it seem like I’m in The Italian Job  - it isn’t going to work.  Compare this to some of the latest iPhone ads…

The iPhone is shown for a total of 25 seconds out of 30, demonstrating functionality.  Is Siri kind of gimmicky?  Yes, but that’s not the point.  The point is if you want to sell me on a phone, maybe you should show me the phone.
